If you’re worried about the jalapeno peppers and it being too hot, don’t be! Once you take the seeds out it drastically decreases the heat.

Our kids ate it and absolutely loved it! It’s even better on the grill because it has that yummy flavor you can only get from grilling food. Now, you can bake this dish if you prefer but we love it grilled.

Serving Ideas

We like to serve this with brown rice. It’s so simple to cook brown rice in the pressure cooker or you can even cook it in the microwave! Talk about an easy side dish! Add a green salad and you are set! Or try this Creamy Broccoli Salad Recipe. Yum! It’s all so good.

Alternately you can cook these in the oven. Grease a baking dish with cooking spray and place pork chops into the dish. Bake, uncovered, for 40-50 minutes at 400 degrees. While we usually grill, if the weather does not permit I will pop it in the oven.

Instead of using pork chops you can make a stuffed pork loin by butterflying a center cut pork loin and stuffing it with the jalapeno popper mixture! Sear it on all sides on the grill and then cook to an internal temperature of 145 degrees.

I use a small baking dish since it’s just the 2 pork chops and clean up isn’t too bad. Have you seen these gorgeous baking sets from Pioneer Woman? Of course any baking dish will do, but goodness these are pretty. 🙂

FAQs

What is the secret to moist pork chops? ›

Fat is key to keeping pork chops moist

Basting them with fat, such as butter. Add in aromatics while basting for more flavor — similar to how you might cook a steak — and then you have the added bonus of browned butter and crispy garlic and/or herbs to serve with the meat.

What kind of sauce do you eat with jalapeño poppers? ›

Blue cheese dressing: For those who enjoy a stronger flavor, blue cheese dressing can add a nice contrast to the mild cheese and spicy jalapenos. Marinara sauce: If you're looking for a classic dipping sauce, marinara sauce is a great choice. The tangy tomato sauce complements the melted cheese and spicy jalapenos.

How do you get bread crumbs to stick to jalapeño poppers? ›

That first coating with flour helps the breadcrumbs stick—and stay on—much better. The finished poppers should have a nice, solid coating on them that's neither too thick nor too thin.

What is the best main dish for jalapeño poppers? ›

These jalapeño poppers are pretty versatile — you can serve them with just about anything. They pair perfectly with other classic appetizers like nachos, chicken wings, or any kind of dip. Homemade jalapeño poppers are also a great warm-up for tailgate-style entrees, such as hot dogs or hamburgers.

How do I cook pork chops so they don't dry out? ›

High-heat frying sears them to a golden brown; and a moderately hot oven (400 degrees F) bakes the pork chops gently enough to keep them from drying out. This "sear-roasting" method is a great way to cook pork chops in the oven: Fry one side to golden brown, then flip, and place the chops directly in the oven.

How do I make sure my pork chops don't dry out? ›

Try a Marinade or Brine. A marinade or brine can introduce more moisture or lots of flavor into your meat before you cook it. A marinade is a sauce that introduces extra flavor to your pork, depending on the aromatics or herbs you choose to include. A brine pulls more moisture into the meat, which keeps your pork juicy ...

What is creamy jalapeño sauce made of? ›

Place minced jalapenos, sour cream, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and cilantro in a blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Cover and refrigerate at least one hour, or overnight, before serving.

How do you keep the cheese in jalapeno poppers? ›

Let the poppers cool for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Because the filling is made up entirely of cheese (and therefore totally melty straight from the oven), it's important to let the poppers cool before serving them, which will set the cheese a bit.

Are you supposed to flip jalapeno poppers? ›

Poke the toothpick into the side of the jalapeno so it makes it easy to flip in the pan. In other words, not directly into the cream cheese part. Heat the jalapeno poppers in a large frying pan for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until the bacon is browned and crispy.

Why are my crumbs not sticking to jalapeño poppers? ›

There are a few things you can do to help the breading stick to the jalapenos when making jalapeno poppers. First, make sure the jalapenos are dry before breading them. Second, you can use a little bit of egg wash on the jalapenos before breading them. Finally, make sure the breading is well-coated on the jalapenos.

How do you keep cheese from oozing out of jalapeño poppers? ›

I figured the best way to keep the cheese from coming out of the bottom is to wrap bacon starting at the bottom and working my way up. I wrapped each one in bacon and used a tooth pick to hold them together. While I was wrapping these with bacon, I fired up the smoker.

Why aren t my jalapeño poppers spicy? ›

A pepper plant that is stressed, having the soil get dry between infrequent waterings, appears to have an impact on the the hotness of the pepper. The older the pepper, and the more stress the plant has been under, the more white lines you'll see, and the hotter the pepper will be.

What should I soak my pork chops in? ›

Mix milk with first amount of salt (2 teaspoons) and allow pork chops to soak in this mixture for as long as you'd like, about an hour to maybe four works well. Overnight soaking will result in too much moisture & your breading will fall off. Remove pork chops from brine, and set aside.

A brine is essentially just salt and water. It helps prevent moisture loss during cooking, and the salt also helps tenderize the meat from the inside out. If you want an extra juicy piece of pork, brine it before cooking. You can make an effective brine just with salt and water, but additional seasonings do help.
