Need more practicality in your electric performance car? Porsche also makes a wagon version of the Taycan called the Taycan Sport Turismo. Available only in GTS guise, it combines the best performance options to the Cross Turismo body style, getting rid of the higher ride height and body cladding.

Underneath you'll find bespoke air suspension tuning and two electric motors. Combined they make a total of 590 hp, enough for a 0-60 time in the mid-three-second range. It's the absolute sweet spot in the Taycan range, if you ask us.

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the most fun you can have behind the wheel of an EV right now. Tons of suspension and chassis updates paired to a 641-hp drivetrain mean endless cornering satisfaction and a surprising amount of on-track capability.

The Rimac Nevera is the Guinness-certified king of acceleration, able to accelerate to 60 mph in just 1.74 seconds—the quickest of any production car, ever. That's just one of over 20 acceleration- and braking-related records it currently holds.

It's not just straight-line speed the Nevera is good at. The four-motor, 1914-hp supercar currently holds the record for electric production cars at the Nürburgring, with a blistering time of 7:05.

What makes the Pininfarina Battista truly great is what lies under its streamlined body panels. Its powertrain is Rimac-based, meaning it has the same level of advanced battery and motor tech found in the Nevera.

The result is 1877 hp from a total of four independent motors and an advanced torque vectoring system. That's enough to blitz the quarter-mile in under nine seconds, onto a top speed of over 220 mph.

The Lotus Evija's trippy taillights and wild aero aren't the only things it has going for it. Underneath the sleek body you'll find four electric motors, one for each wheel. Together they produce an incredible 1972 hp and 1254 lb-ft of torque.

At around 3700 pounds, the Evija isn't particularly light by supercar standards. But that's an impressive weight for an EV, enough to get the Evija from zero to 186 mph in just nine seconds flat.

The GranTurismo Folgore is an all-electric version of Maserati's longstanding grand tourer coupe, meant to sit at the top of the lineup above the V-6-powered Trofeo trim.

Rated at 750 hp and 995 lb-ft of torque, the Folgore's tri-motor setup gets power from a T-shaped 92.5 kWh battery. With a curb weight of nearly 5000 pounds the Folgore is far from light, but that can't stop it from hitting 60 mph in just 2.7 seconds, according to Maserati.

The Audi RS e-tron GT shares much of its underpinnings with the Porsche Taycan, meaning engineers had a fantastic chassis to start with when developing their own version of the sporty electric sedan.

The RS e-tron GT features Audi's own suspension tuning and two electric motors—one for each axle. Combined they make 637 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque when launch control is activated. Audi quotes a 0-60 time of 3.1 seconds, though our colleagues at Car and Driver were able to get the car to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds in testing.

The Tesla Model 3's looks don't exactly scream "sports car," but the Performance trim is just that. With over 400 hp available from two electric motors, it's able to keep up with the best gas-powered sport sedans in its segment.

You won't get much in terms of feedback, but the Model 3 Performance can be the perfect dual-purpose daily driver for those who don't want to give up all of their fun with the switch to electric power.

While it's fair to argue the Tesla Model S Plaid is too big and heavy to be a true sports car, we'd kindly like to remind you this car once held the record for quickest electric vehicle around the Nürburgring.

While that title has since been taken by the Rimac Nevera, the Model S Plaid remains a straight-line fiend, able to rocket to 60 mph in under two seconds thanks to its three electric motors, which combine to make 1020 hp.

The Kia EV6 GT might look like yet another lifeless electric crossover, but it sure doesn't feel like one from behind the wheel. Instead, it feels like a high-riding hot hatch eager to melt through corners and rotate on demand.

There's 576 hp to play with thanks to two electric motors and a 77.4-kWh battery pack. Other upgrades include a stiffened chassis structure, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a quicker steering rack. Oh, and there's also a drift mode for big, tire-melting slides.
